The Support Services division was a brand new venture undertaken by the late Sheriff Clark.

This position  brings years of training and experience to this forefront and we hope to grow this division to reach or exceed the goals and standards set forth by the Sheriff.

Support Services is comprised of School Resource Officers, Dare Officers, the Domestic Violence Officer, Civil Officer's, Records personnel and professional development.  The Support Services Commander also commands the S.W.A.T. Team (Special Weapons and Tactics)  They make high level entry's upon building's,  respond to Hostage Situations, Armed Subject Situations, and any other incident necessitating the use of their specialized training and weapons.

In relationship to professional development, the Caldwell County Sheriffs Office has currently took on the task of becoming C.A.L.E.A. certified.  C.A.L.E.A. is a national law enforcement accreditation that the Sheriff's Office voluntarily took upon itself to show the commitment of the Command Staff and officers to make this agency one of the best in the state.

CALEA is a voluntary accreditation for law enforcement agencies based on a body
of standards internationally accepted by the law enforcement community.
