Records Division

     

The Records division handles all documents that are created by Caldwell County deputies.  They store, and handle reports from incidents such as murder, rape. assaults, damage to property and other crimes.  The generate statistics from these reports and report those statistics to the State Bureau of Investigation.

The Records division also receives all Criminal Process' such as Warrants and Orders for Arrest and they track such information as who was arrested, who they were arrested by, etc.

Copies of Incident Reports can be obtained by calling the division at (828) 759-1552 or (828) 758-2324, and asking for records.   Copies of reports are $4.00 per incident. to the public.  Some reports, by North Carolina Law, are not public record.  This would include for example, reports involving juveniles, certain domestic violence reports, and investigative files and supplements.

The Records Division also completes "No Trespass Agreements" for persons who need that information.  Signs that include the appropriate NC General Statute are available here for $2.00 each.
