Arrests Made in Murders

On June 06, 2010 Investigators with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office have made three arrests in connection to the incident on June 04, 2010 in the Rhodhiss Community.   There were two bodies found burned in a vehicle in a remote area located off of Duke Power Road near the lake. 

The names of the victims are known, however will not be released to the public until their identity can be confirmed through the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office.

Justin Ray Hester of 1301 Southwood Court of Lenoir, NC age 23 was arrested for First Degree Murder and was placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center under no bond.

Matthew Bradley Powell of 4330 Sitrewalt Drive lot 22 Granite Falls, NC age 21 was arrested for 2 counts of Accessory to Murder after the Fact and was placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center under no bond.

Dylan Shane Teeters of 4636 Oak Hill School Road Lenoir, NC age 19 was arrested for 2 counts of Accessory to Murder after the Fact and was placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center under no bond.

All three suspects are expected to have First Appearance Hearings on Monday, June 07, 2010 in Caldwell County District Court.

Sheriff Alan Jones stated that he is proud of the hard work and dedication that Investigators from both agencies have shown over the last few days to maintain a safe community for the citizens of Caldwell County.
