Illegal Drug Trafficker in Jail
On April 29, 2010, a drug
investigation came to a close with the arrest of Angel
Lozano Hernandez, 33, of 14 Circle Street in Granite Falls. The investigation involved agents with the North
Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, Caldwell County Sheriffs Office Ice Unit,
Longview Police Department and Granite Falls Police Department. During the operation, Hernandez and his
organization had been infiltrated by an undercover officer who had made several purchases
of drugs from him. The investigation led to a
final arrangement for Hernandez to meet with the undercover officer at an undisclosed
location with 9 pounds of marijuana and 4 ounces of powder cocaine.
When Hernandez arrived with the drugs
he was taken into custody without incident. A
total of 9 ¾ pounds of marijuana and 141 grams of powder cocaine has been seized. The drugs have a street value of approximately
$64,000 according to state guidelines. More
drug charges on Hernandez are expected in the near future.
This
was a huge operation on a large scale drug dealer. These agencies came together and put a
dope pusher out of business. I value the
working relationship we have with all the agencies involved. Sheriff Alan C. Jones
