Indictment Returned in Seacrest Case

On April 12, 2010 the 19 year old murder case of Mark and Jeanie Seacrest was presented to the Grand Jury of Caldwell County.  The Grand Jury heard testimony from the investigating officers in the case.  The Grand Jury returned an indictment for two counts of murder.  

 The defendant, William Eugene Murphy, is still in the Caldwell County Detention Center under no bond with a court date of May 3, 2010 in Caldwell County Superior Court.

Sheriff Alan Jones stated that he is pleased that the Grand Jury returned indictments on the two counts for murder.  The Sheriff also said that the investigators will continue to work closely with the District Attorney’s Office to ensure that justice is served in this case.
