Sex Offender Apprehended

On March 31, 2009, the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office received a tip that a sex offender for whom the Sheriff’s Office has been searching was at a residence in Newton, North Carolina.  Upon receiving the information, authorities in Catawba County were notified and with their assistance the suspect was located and taken into custody without incident.

Joshua Lee Pettry, white male, 25 years of age, was arrested on a bill of indictment for failure to notify a change of address and also on a probation violation.  Mr. Pettry is incarcerated in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $150,000.00 secured bond.

Sheriff Alan Jones said, “The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office works very hard to monitor the activities and locations of the registered sex offenders in this county.   We will be very aggressive in locating and prosecuting those registered offenders who do not follow the terms of the sex offender program.”
