Two Arrested for Breaking and Entering
On
Monday, February 22, 2010 at 0938 hours, Caldwell County Sheriffs Office received a
call from a concerned neighbor in the Dry Ponds Road area advising of a suspicious vehicle
going from house to house in the area. A deputy was dispatched to the area and
Deputy Jonathan Kirby responded and discovered a white Chevrolet Cavalier with two white
male occupants in the vehicle. Deputy Kirby attempted to stop the vehicle and the
vehicle began to speed up to escape from the Deputy. The suspect vehicle pulled into
the side yard of a residence and the occupants attempted to flee on foot. The deputies on the scene were able to apprehend
the suspects after a brief foot chase.
The
officers on the scene then went back to the residence where the suspects were last seen
and found that the residence had been broken into. Property
from that victims residence was recovered in the possession of the suspects. Deputies recovered close to $5000.00 in stolen
property belonging to the victim of the breaking and entering.
Sheriff
Alan Jones stated The successful apprehension of these suspects is directly due to
the citizens who called the Sheriffs Office and provided us with the suspect
information that led us to their location and arrest. We
were able to position officers in the area and then information we were receiving allowed
us to locate the suspect vehicle, make the arrest and recover the victims property.
