Breaking and Entering Suspect Arrested
On October 16, 2009 at 7:14 am the Caldwell County Sheriffs Office received a call from Marx Industries on 4276 Helena St. Granite Falls. This business in located in the town of Sawmills NC. The caller stated that a male suspect was in the parking lot of the business going into victims vehicles. While deputies were responding to the call, the caller stated that the suspect was being detained by employees of the business.
Sergeant Russell Bolick and Deputy Allen Deal arrived on the scene and questioned the suspect concerning the breaking and entering of vehicles. Deputy Deal placed the suspect under arrest for breaking and entering to automobiles and breaking and entering to the business. During further investigation Sergeant Bolick was able to determine that the suspect had also been involved in a motor vehicle accident earlier in the morning and left the scene of the accident. The North Carolina Highway Patrol was contacted and their investigation is ongoing with additional charges pending against the suspect for the motor vehicle accident.
Sheriff Alan Jones stated that the cooperation from the employees of Marx Industries and the training of the responding officers led to the apprehension of this suspect. Sheriff Jones said The employees were able to watch the suspect and provided accurate information to the telecommunicators on the suspects location and actions, and that information was relayed to the responding officers.

Suspect Information: Jacob Adam Patterson, White Male, 18 years of age. Suspects address is 2350 lot 79 Spring Lake Mobile Home Park, Granite Falls, NC.

Suspect was placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $75,000.00 Secured Bond with a Court Date of Monday October 19, 2009.
