Fugitive in
Custody
A Gamewell man wanted on drug trafficking charges
connected with a search warrant executed on August 28, 2009, at 3650 Townsend Farm Lane in
Lenoir is in custody. Agents with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office Ice
Unit, Longview Police Department and Catawba County Sheriff’s Office located and
arrested Ronnie Andrew Hamby, age 29, at Fran Mar Motel in Longview without
incident. Agents discovered Hamby had been staying in Room #31 with his girlfriend
for the last few days and began conducting surveillance. After agents confirmed he
was in the room, they surrounded the building and arrested him. After his arrest
agents searched him and his room and found a small amount of marijuana, pills, and $152.00
currency.
Hamby’s girlfriend, Stacy Katherine Miller,
age 19, was also taken into custody without incident for drug trafficking violations
stemming from the August 28th search warrant at her place of employment in
Hickory. Both were brought to Caldwell County and appeared before Magistrate J.
Keene. Hamby’s bond was set at $250,000 secured and Miller’s at $50,000
secured. Both have a district court date for a first appearance on September 14,
2009 in Lenoir.
