Where are you from: Lenoir
Education background with dates of graduation:
I graduated from West Caldwell High School in 1993. I graduated from the Detention
Officer Certification Course in 2007.
Work history (specifically in law enforcement):
I have worked at the Caldwell County Detention Center for 5 years.
I am a firefighter for North Catawba Fire Department and have been so for almost 20 years.
Current position and duties:
I am the transport division supervisor. I transport federal inmates back and forth to
court throughout the state. I return inmates back to the Department of Corrections
throughout the state and connecting states. Once they are sentenced, it is my
responsibility to complete the paperwork and send them to the correct facility.
Why did you get into law enforcement?
I wanted a career change and I enjoy working with the public.
What do you enjoy most about the job today?
The people that I work with and trying to help individuals that need help, especially
juveniles. If we can talk and help even one juvenile, we have done our job.
What challenges do you face each day on the job?
Sentenced inmates trying to escape from custody which includes those inmates trying
to hurt officers.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Being a sworn deputy working for Sheriff Jones

What do you like to do in your free time?
Spending as much quality time with my family as possible and going to church.
