On July 30, 2009 Investigators with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ashley Allison Stewart, White Female, DOB: 2/19/1987 on a felony charge of Possession of Stolen Property.  A search was conducted of this suspect’s residence and the investigators were able to recover a large amount of stolen property.  Investigator’s obtained a search warrant for a second residence and additional property was recovered at that location.  Two additional suspects were arrested in connection with the recovered stolen property.

Danny Carl Lackey, White Male, DOB: 09/04/1979, was arrested and charged with Felony Possession of Stolen Property.  Mr. Lackey was given $5000.00 secured bond and placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center.

Tiffany Pennell Lackey, White Female, DOB: 09/19/1981, was arrested and charged with Felony Possession of Stolen Property.  Mrs. Lackey was also given a $5000.00 Secured bond and placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center.

Investigators stated that over $100,000.00 in stolen property has been recovered in the searches of the two residences.  Investigators believe that some of the property may be from other jurisdictions and different counties.  It also appears that some of the recovered property is related to cases dating as far back as six months or longer.

Investigators have been developing information on these cases for several months. With the help of the community and business owners the investigators were able to identify and target the three suspects.   Sheriff Alan Jones stated that several businesses were instrumental in solving these cases.

Victims of breaking and entering cases are asked to call the investigation division starting Monday to make appointments to identify their property.  The phone number to the investigation division is 828-759-1554.

Sheriff Jones stated “the diligence and hard work of the Investigation Division, the cooperation of the community and the businesses owners made it possible to take three criminal predators off the streets and make our community a safer place.”
