The Caldwell County Detention Center was completed in October of 1999. The current facility design includes 185 inmate beds, a supervised cost-effective inmate labor food service and laundry operation, non-contact visitation area and a secure medical treatment area. This design also allows for the future expansion of the inmate housing areas. In 2010 the Detention Center was renovated with new state of the art security cameras and electronic door locking system to maximize safety and security of the facility staff and the citizens of Caldwell County. The Detention Center is operated and supervised by a staff of 43 trained individuals and other program volunteers, dedicated to the security of the facility and humane treatment of inmates.

Inmate programs within the facility include Jail Ministry, visitation, recreation and access to commissary and hygiene products. The revenues generated through the commissary operation are placed in the Caldwell County General Fund in an effort to lessen the burden of the tax payers.

The visitation schedule is as follows:

Below is the available schedule.  Visitation is on a first come, first serve basis.

Inmates with last names beginning starting A-L

Saturday Only 8:00 am-10:00 am
    1:00 pm-4:00pm
    8:00 pm-10:00 pm
     

Inmates with last names beginning with M-Z

Sunday Only 8:00 am-10:00 am
    1:00 pm-4:00 pm
    8:00 pm-10:00 pm

 

For security reasons, visitation is only allowed during the times listed.

Inmate visitation is subject to cancellation at any time due to unforeseen circumstances.

The inmate telephone system is a service provided to facilitate communication with family support systems as well as allowing inmates the ability to keep their affairs in order during their incarceration.
