Major David Anderson's Credentials
Major David Anderson is a 22 year law
enforcement veteran. He joined the Caldwell County Sheriffs Office on January 1,
1993 when he was assigned to the Patrol Division as Deputy Sheriff. Anderson was promoted
to Sergeant in 1994, Lieutenant in 1998 and Captain of the Patrol Division in 2006. He was
appointed to Major/Chief Deputy, by Sheriff Alan Jones on July 1, 2008.
As the Sheriffs Chief Deputy Major Anderson is responsible for monitoring budgetary
and personnel matters as well as overseeing the daily operations of the Sheriffs
office. In the Sheriffs absence he is responsible for many other duties associated
with the office of Sheriff.
Major Anderson began his law enforcement career in the United States Army. He attended
Military Police School at Fort McClellan, Alabama; graduating in January of 1987. On
February 23, 1987 Anderson was assigned to the 21st Military Police Company (Airborne) at
Fort Bragg, North Carolina. His Military service includes deployments to Honduras and
Panama.
In 1990 Anderson joined the Lenoir Police Department where he served as patrol officer and
field training officer before joining the Sheriffs Office on January 1, 1993.
Major Anderson has received thousands of hours of law enforcement training.
He has received numerous medals, service awards, and commendations throughout his career
including the Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate, Officer of the Year, and the Medal of
Valor.
With the exception of the time Major Anderson spent away in military service, he is a life
long resident of Caldwell County. He resides in the Oak Hill Community with his wife and
children.
